Continuing the series of posting albums and/or EPs as and when they are released (or usually a bit after!) as a follow up to the initial new tracks/singles posts posted on this blog. Sample the release via the You Tube track then dive in to the full release.
Dottie – Thief
(Flood) Austin’s Dottie returns with a beautiful ethereal shoegazing track. I cannot say more than that.
This is definitely one of my favourite albums of the year. It’s like the theme to Twins Peaks which is then immersed in a dark and otherworldly shoegazing cauldron.
Thief is out now in digital and cassette formats.
Motifs – Remember a Stranger
Lovelost is another slice of female fronted ethereal shoegaze, a sound that has been so popular of late. It not only manages to grab your attention but also has the power to imagine that you are listening to it in a floatation tank. Go on, close your eyes and see (hear) what I mean!
(Valentine) It’s a sparkling and glistening song that highlights the vocals of singer Elspeth Ong. However as often is the case, the upbeat sound betrays the sullen words that deal with a long lost love.
Remember a Stranger is out now.
Gladie – Don’t Know What You’re In Until You’re Out
“Gladie, who feature Augusta Koch formerly of Cayetana, release their new album Don’t Know What You’re In Until You’re Out on November 18 2022. Nothing is the lead single and is a welcome cobweb busting blast of noisy indie rock.”
Don’t Know What You’re In Until You’re Out is out now via Plum Records.
