Given their debut EP’s title you would expect a Joy Division influence or two on the Strasbourg based post-punk band Heimberg and you would be right. It’s apparent from the opening minutes of the first track Fate that the ex Warsaw denizens have had an impact on the bands sound. Thankfully the band do not attempt to mimic that influential sound 100% and use it at first to create a benchmark and then to take the listener on a journey, sometimes familiar, sometimes not. All in all it’s an enjoyable EP with Glass Prison being the standout track for me.
