This weeks pack of three features three synth ridden tracks you can tap your feet too or go the whole-hog and dance!
We The North – Graven
We The North is the guise of Swede Johan Hansson who resides in Hong Kong. He makes electronic music not to dissimilar to New Division and like that band I am sure the works of New Order are a huge influence. The electronic melodies here are pretty great and parts of me hope that an extended version or remix is in the offering. Translating the lyrics reveals a tale of sadness and forgiving. Most good.
Echoberyl – Silent Monster (The Other Side of the Mirror)
French post-punk act Echoberyl have been a permanent listen for me these past couple of years. Silent Monster (The Other Side of the Mirror) is a slab of danceable yet dark synthpop resplendent with haunting vocals and storyline. Jump to the extended version for the beats.
Dlina Volny – Saturday
Dlina Volny describe themselves as a “brut-pop/dark-disco/post-punk trio from Minsk, Belarus” but their Bandcamp profile now shows them as being located in Vilnius, Lithuania. Anyway and regardless of where they currently reside they have made a fine mix of synthpop and Italo house which I believe the kids refer to as dark-disco. Extremely catchy and addictive Saturday is another track that I would like to hear in a longer form as it’s over far to quick for my ears and feet! I will certainly be delving more into this lots back catalogue.
