Chicago’s Lightfoil produced one of the finest moments of 2018 with their single Summer Nights which appeared in an even more wonderful extended form on that year’s Chambers long-player and that was er it. Until now that is as they return a new line up with another epic alt-rock/shoegaze track full of noisy guitars and trippy moments in the shape of Sunblind.
It’s backed with a Vet Trip mix of Honeydew that appeared on said album. The shimmering guitars of the original are replaced with a steady drumbeat that highlights the female vocal which may or may not be the voice of original vocalist Jane Zabeth. Either way it’s not a bad mix and prompted me to dig out the original.
