I have always enjoyed reading other peoples end of year lists such as Not Unloved and Trip TV for instance both of which feature choices new to me. I guess that’s why I like lists so much plus it’s also an easy way to generate another Spotify playlist!
Anyway to prove that some people may actually read (or glance) at this blog what were your favourite tracks of 2013? Let me know in the comments.

Hi R.I.L., I’m one of your readers and enjoy the wide net you cast over indie music waters. Thanks to the bands and labels that put out 7″ singles, a format of enduring qualities and worth getting excited about.
Ten 7s Clash:
10 English Singles – Ordinary Girls (Slumberland)
9 Shopping – In Other Words (Milk)
8 Pastels – Check My Heart (Domino)
7 Nots – Dust Red ep (Goner)
6 Tripping The Light Fantastic – Heavy Heart (Cloudberry)
5 Alpaca Sports – Telephone (Dufflecoat)
4 Fireworks – Runaround (Shelflife)
3 Girl One & The Grease Guns – Driving Without Headlights (Once Again) (Squirrel)
2 Mentalettes – Fine, Fine, Fine (Copasedisques)
1 Jeffrey Lewis & The Rain – W.W.P.R.D (Rough Trade)
Thanks for the kind words and for taking a fly peek at Not Unloved every once in a while, Tim. 2013 was an insane year for great songs but these are just divine:
My fave track from Golden Grrrls lp: https://soundcloud.com/nightschool/never-said-enough-from-lssn015
Kicking Leaves is just too beautiful:
It may sound a lot like Sarah Records/early Primal Scream but this is divine:
If they’re new to you, hope you like ’em!
cheers, brogues
