Shallow End is taken from Tokyo based and uniquely named Optloquat. It originally appeared back in July (oh months now!) on the bands first mini album From the Shallow.
If paying those eye watering Japanese prices put you off the first time around fear no more as From the Shallow now gets a physical release on CD via Jigsaw Records as well as a sensibly priced digital download. As for the track itself it sounds a bit like Pinkshinyultrablast but without as much electronica thrown into the mix.
As for the rest of the album whilst most of the tracks veer off the Richter Scale sound wise, with Giver and Overcast being highlights, they do manage get very dreamy in a poppy way on Lapes as the guitar volume is lowered considerably. Enjoyable stuff!
