Martes Niebla – Cicatriz

Cicatriz is the second single to be taken from the forthcoming debut album from Martes Niebla that is due for release later this year. It follows the wonderful Reykjavík single that was released last December.

It’s a fine mix of indiepop and dreampop with the basslines and synths providing an extra dimension to an already catchy but melancholic song. The words tell a tale of pain and beauty as the translated lyrics attest. “The discarded keeps the fire of the rose inside, The ill-fated finds a path in the void, Something moves and comes to life, it’s an ember in pain, Dark roses in the junkyards”

The band, which features members of Blacanova, Terry vs. Tori amongst others, will release the as of yet untitled album in October via El Genio Equivocado. Until then Cicatriz can be purchased digitally from either the band or label.
