The Francine Odysseys – My Favorite Distraction

The Francine Odysseys have just released their new EP. Titled My Favorite Distraction they write that “quarantine can be a boon for bedroom recording projects”. Given the four tracks here they are not wrong!

The opening song Before You is not a million miles away from the work singer/writer Gretchen Devault has been doing with The Blue Herons of late and has that jangling guitar pop vibe. The other three songs continue pretty much in the same vein and take in elements of indie pop, dream pop and a New Order inspired guitar riff and bassline (or two) along the way. Second With You is my pick of a very good bunch.

My Favorite Distraction is out now digitally from the band on a pay what you want basis.
