Mexican band Melted Ice Cream had a busy January. Aside from the obligatory Christmas single, they released a live session EP Verano en Casa that featured tracks from 2019’s debut album Beach Love and an acoustic version of Nothing Wrong which again is a track taken from the aforementioned album.
As lovely a version that it was something new was needed (or had not appeared previously) and the band duly delivered with Morir de Amor (Death Of Love). Like a well-cooked meal, there are plenty of elements coming together here including “girl/boy” vocals and indiepop guitars both of which have a punk-pop mentality. It’s an enjoyable and catchy track just as pop music should be despite the solemn lyrics once translated.
(there is no warning on this one but it made me giddy!)
