Witterings from an old indie kid
The second EP from Californians Lawnchair carries on in pretty much as the same as their first and features four tweepop songs with the longest song running in at 1m 24s. They open with the instrumental New 1 with lo-fi guitars mixing with surf-pop whilst the title track is a charming affair with the female vocals giving the song more of a hint of a track from the C86 era. I Went Out strums it’s way into your affection and the tuneful closing track Daddy is over before it began. My only gripe is that at times I struggled to hear what they were singing as the vocals got lost at times which could be a combination of the DIY mixing and my cloth ears! There are lot of interesting ideas here and I cannot wait to hear some more. Go-Karting is available on a pay what you want basis from here.
